The boys' cross country team placed second in Tuesday's Region 4C Championship behind perennial power Loudoun Valley to earn their second straight state championship appearance. With only two teams advancing this year, the Colonels held off a strong Millbrook performance for the final spot. Junior Nathaniel Woshner placed 4th overall to again lead the team with a time of 16:41.0. Freshman Ethan Pratt-Perez had an outstanding race, placing 9th overall in 16:58.4. Senior Chris White followed in 11th (17:05.1), Liam McDonald was 18th (17:30.6), and Landon Burdock rounded out the scoring by finishing 29th (18:01.4).
The VHSL 4A State Championship will be held on Saturday, April 24 at Oatlands in Leesburg.

Yesterday, members of the cross country teams competed in a meet at Central High School. On the girls side, Carrie Schneider was the top finisher on the team to cover the 3 mile distance with Jocelyn Kluge following closely behind. Ethan Pratt-Perez was the overall winner of the boys race and Nolan Cornwell was the second team finisher. The teams host the City-County meet next Wednesday with races starting at 5:00 PM.

Meet information for March 17 at Central:
For the Cross Country meet on Wednesday, Central students may have up to four people attend on their behalf; visiting teams may have two people attend on behalf of each runner. This is to ensure compliance with Executive Order 72 on attendance at outdoor venues.
There will be no bus transportation for this meet. Athletes may NOT drive themselves to Woodstock. Please contact Coach Lofton if you need a ride and we will work out carpooling!
