The varsity soccer teams both earned wins over Clarke County on Wednesday night. The boys won 5-0 behind goals by Aidan Houser (2), Damon Schneider, Paul Ebersole, and Nate Marchelewski. Houser, Ebersole, Misael Ortega, Zyven Coffman, and Daniel Sabia had assists for the Colonels, and
Jairo Reyes got the shutout in goal with 6 saves while filling in for injured starter Ethan Russell. The girls won 9-2 at Clarke County in an offensive explosion, only days after playing to a 0-0 tie with the Eagles on home turf.
The girls won 9-2 over the Eagles. Katie Padgett set a new school record with 6 goals in the game, breaking the prior mark of 5 held by Emily Denton who accomplished the feat twice (2013, 2016). Hailey Given, Audrey Hottle, and Neary Casebolt each had a goal for Wood.
