The James Wood cross country teams competed at the Northwestern District Championships at Nokesville Park on Wednesday. The boys' team placed 4th in the 4A division to advance to regionals, while the girls placed 5th, one spot out of advancement. Fauquier High School captured team titles in both divisions.

Sophomore Kenzie Konyar had the team's best individual finish of the day, placing 2nd in the girls' race in a time of 18:52, while brother Kevin Konyar, a senior, placed 4th in the boys' race.  Junior Josh Arce also earned all-district recognition by placing 7th.

The Region 4A-C Championships will be held next Wednesday at Kernstown Battlefield with races starting at 3:00 PM.
