The varsity girls' basketball team closed out 2017 on a positive note by capturing the Boonsboro Holiday Tournament title.  The Colonels defeated Sherwood in the first round, 64-41.  Makayla Firebaugh led the team with 28 points and added 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Amber Wooldridge scored 15 and added 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals.  Donyell Sloane and Emma VanHorn each scored 6 and Brenna Prunty added 5.

In the championship game, the Colonels defeated cross-border rival Musselman, 61-52. Amber Wooldridge led the team with 21 points. Makayla Firebaugh scored 13 and added 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 blocks. Emma VanHorn scored 11 to go with 7 assists and 6 steals, and Brenna Prunty and Ellie Salvatore each added 7 points.

All four basketball teams will host Sherando on Wednesday, January 3 with games at 6:00 and 7:30 PM.
