The boys’ and girls’ track & field team concluded their regular season this past Friday at the Millbrook Last-Chance Invitational. Rene Rosso was 1st in the 100 meter hurdles with a state-qualifying performance that broke the meet record and 3rd in the 200 meter dash with a regional-qualifying performance. Jenny Kerns was 4th in the high jump with a regional-qualifying performance. The 3200 meter relay team of Audrey Sandy, Riley Rose, Lindsay Nesmith, and Kenzie Konyar were 2nd with a regional-qualifying performance, and the 400 meter relay team of Jenny Kerns, Mia Johnson, Eliana Creech, and Rene Rosso ran a regional-qualifying performance. For the boys, Chance Grove was 1st in the discus throw with a state-qualifying performance. Will Crowder was 3rd in the 200 meter dash with a regional-qualifying performance. Drake Tews was 4th in the high jump with a regional-qualifying performance. The 400 meter relay team of Drake Tews, Jackson Clyburn, Jeremiah Addison, and Will Crowder were 2nd with a regional-qualifying performance, and the 1600 meter relay team of Owen Emerson, Jackson Clyburn, Logan Owens, and Jeremiah Addison also ran a regional-qualifying performance.
The Colonels will compete in the Northwestern District Championships on Friday at Skyline High School with events starting at 3:00 PM. The will also host the Frederick County Junior League middle school championships on Wednesday at 5:00 PM.
