The varsity softball team defeated Handley 18-0 in the first round of the Northwestern District tournament on Monday. Ivy Rosenberry started and pitched 3 shutout innings with 5 strikeouts, and Lani Spielman pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief. Olivia Miller was 2-2 with a double and 3 runs scored, Rebecca Boone was 2-3, and Mackenzie McCarty hit a 3-run HR. Lindsey Anderson was 3-4 with a double, triple, and HR.

The team will host the Kettle Run Cougars, who upset the #3 seed Liberty 5-0, on Tuesday at 6:30 PM at Ridge Field. Admission price for all district playoff games is $6.00.  The winner will advance to Thursday's championship game.
