The Colonels golf team opened the 2018 season by placing 9th out of 22 teams at Monday's Curly Licklider Tournament, held at Shenandoah Valley Club.  Among Northwestern District teams, Wood beat five of six schools, only four strokes behind Kettle Run and well ahead of Sherando, Millbrook, Handley, Liberty, and Fauquier.  Jacob Karen led the team with a 77, John Greene shot 79,  and Jackson Lynch and Carson Baker both scored 86.

The team will compete in the Northwestern District mini-tournament on Monday and will then co-host the Bryan Gunter Memorial on Tuesday and Wednesday. Day One will be played at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club, and Day Two is at Winchester Country Club. Shotguns starts on both days is 8:30 AM.
