With the Oatlands Invitational in Leesburg canceled due to facility conditions, the James Wood cross country teams were able to secure a late entry into the Hood College Invitational in Frederick, MD.  The teams performed well with the girls placing 2nd out of 20 teams and the boys finishing 6th out of 24 teams.

Kenzie Konyar placed 3rd in the girls' race with a time of 20:10.4.  Lauren Beatty (13th), Elena Farinholt (19th), Haley Witt (20th), and Shannon Mulvaney (32nd) rounded out the top five.

For the boys, Ethan Pierce was the top runner for the Colonels placing 23rd.  Josh Arce (31st), Nathaniel Woshner (32nd), Nathan Shade (54th), and Chris White (59th) were the other scoring runners.  Woshner was the top freshman finisher in the race.

The teams will compete in the City-County Championships on Tuesday at Sherando.
