The JV football team held on for a 18-16 win over Liberty on Tuesday night, improving to 4-0 on the season. Wood squandered a 18-0 halftime lead and the Eagles drove 74 yards in the closing minutes, but the Colonels tackled the Liberty quarterback on the 1-yard line with :02 remaining and the Eagles, who were out of timeouts, were unable to get off another play. Dean Ritter had two touchdown runs, Andrew Waters had one touchdown pass to Jaden Ashby , and Zack Rose had1 interception. The Colonels will host Millbrook next Tuesday with kickoff at 7:00 PM.
The JV volleyball team defeated Fauquier 2-0 to improve to 14-0 on the season. The varsity team followed with a 3-0 win to improve to 11-3. The volleyball teams will host Handley on Thursday night.
The competition cheer squad placed 3rd in the Northwestern District mini held at Millbrook. The Colonels scored 209 points. Millbrook won the event with 222 points, and Liberty was 2nd with 210. The team will compete at the Dominion Invitational on Saturday.
