The varsity girls basketball team had a thrilling come from behind overtime win against Skyline on Wednesday night. Down 3 with just 8 seconds left in regulation, Makayla Firebaugh hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. The Lady Colonels outscored Skyline 7-5 in the overtime to pull out the win 61-59. Firebaugh finished with a game-high 31 points, her 2nd 30+ game in a row. Jenny Kerns scored a career high 12 points to go with her 7 assists. The JV girls' team won its third straight, 23-17.
The JV boys' basketball team lost to Skyline 44-35 on Wednesday night. Elijah Boggs led the Colonels with 9 points and Jonah Borromeo had 7 points
The varsity boys' team also lost to the Hawks 65-51. Ben Smith led the Colonels with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Jaden Ashby had 11 points and 5 rebounds.
All four teams travel to Handley on Friday. The girls' teams will then host Hampshire on Saturday while the boys travel to Clarke County.
