The Girls’ and Boys’ Indoor Track & Field teams competed on Monday, February 4, 2019, in the Northwestern District 4A Indoor Track & Field Championships at James Wood HS.
The girls’ team had several regional-qualifying performances. The Girls’ 4x800m Relay team of Audrey Sandy, Mackenzie Konyar, Haley Witt, Olivia Walker finished 1st in their race. Brooke Sandy was 2nd in High Jump, 5th in Long Jump, and 5th in 55m Hurdles. Riley Rose was 4th in 500m Dash. Olivia Walker was 5th in 1000m Run. Audrey Sandy was 5th in the High Jump.
The boys also had several regional-qualifying performances. Logan Owens was 1st in Triple Jump, 3rd in 55m Hurdles, and 5th in Long Jump. Chance Grove was 2nd in Shot Put with a State Qualifying throw of 46’ 6.5” is #2 all-time indoor. Jackson Clyburn was 4th in 55m Dash. Nathaniel Woshner was 4th in 3200m Run. Joseph Spielman was 6th in Triple Jump. The 4x400m Relay team of Jackson Clyburn, Owen Emerson, Trenton Jordan, Logan Owens was 3rd.
These athletes will represent James Wood in the Region 4C Indoor Track & Field Championship this Friday, February 8, at Hagerstown Community College. Doors will open for spectators at 3:00 PM and events begin at 3:45. You can find full NWD results at https://va.milesplit.com/results .
