Members of the Indoor Track & Field Team competed on Friday, February 8, in the Region 4C Championship at Hagerstown Community College.
The girls had several all-region performances. Brooke Sandy earned regional champion honors, finishing 1st in High Jump. She was also 5th in 55m Hurdles. Audrey Sandy was 3rd in High Jump. Kenzie Konyar was 3rd in 3200m Run. Olivia Walker was 4th in 1000m Run. Her time of 3:19.27 moves her into the #2 position on James Wood’s all-time list for Indoor Track & Field.
The boys also had several all-region performances. Logan Owens earned regional championship honors, finishing 1st in Triple Jump. He was also 4th in Long Jump. Both of these events were actually contested this past Wednesday due to the lack of jump pits at the Hagerstown facility. Chance Grove was 5th in Shot Put.
James Wood will be represented at the Class 4A State Championship on February 22 - 23 at Roanoke College by the following athletes:
