The James Wood varsity softball team opened its season on Thursday night at Ridge Field, defeating Clarke County 10-0 in 5 innings. Ivy Rosenberry was stellar in the circle, throwing a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Rosenberry added a home run in the second inning and had two walks in the game. Afton Sykes was 1-3 with a double and 2 RBIs, and Abigail Brannon was 1-2 with a double 2 RBIs. Rebecca Boone added a 2-run single.  The Colonels host Berkeley Springs on Friday at 6:00 PM.
