VHSL 2019 Class 4 All-State Girls Basketball Teams Selected     

Lake Taylor’s JaNaiya Quinerly selected Class 4 Girls Player of the Year; Lake Taylor’s Saundra Sawyer named Class 4 Girls Coach of the Year  

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — The Virginia High School League 2019 Class 4 all-state girls basketball teams are announced. Lake Taylor’s 5’7” sophomore guard JaNaiya Quinerly was selected Class 4 Player of the Year and Lake Taylor head coach Saundra Sawyer was named Class 4 Coach of the Year after leading the Titans to the state title with a 61-29 win over Pulaski County in the finals.

Eight (8) players are chosen for the first-team and eight players are selected for the second-team regardless of position. Only those players selected to all-region first-teams are eligible for selection to the All-State team.  James Wood junior Makayla Firebaugh, the Region 4C co-player of the year, was named to the first team.

Each All-State selection committee is composed of eight basketball coaches (2 from each Region).
