James Wood softball beat Liberty 10-0 in 5 innings to advance to Thursday's championship game. Ivy Rosenberry pitched a shutout, allowing only 2 hits with 8 strikeouts. Leading the Colonels at the plate was Olivia Miller who was 3-3 with a triple, walk, and RBI, Afton Sykes hit her first career home run to right field in the first inning, scoring three early runs for Wood, and added a double, finishing the game with 7 RBIs. Rebecca Boone was 1-2 with a walk and RBI. Hannah Davis was 1-3 with a solo HR and Mackenzie McCarty was 1-3. Ivy Rosenberry was walked 4 times. The Colonels will now play Fauquier on Thursday in the District Championship game at Ridge Field with game time at 6:00.
