Riverside beat James Wood 8-3 on Tuesday night in the Region 4C semifinal round. Ivy Rosenberry pitched a 4 hitter, but the Colonels made six fielding errors which proved to be costly. Leading the Colonels at the plate was Afton Sykes who went 3-3 with a triple, walk, and RBI. Olivia Miller and Ivy Rosenberry both went 2-4, Jenna Burkhamer was 1-4 with a double and 2 RBIs, and Caitlyn Shutts and Haley Kaiser were each 1-3. Riverside will face Woodgrove, who defeated Fauquier in the other semifinal game, in the regional championship game on Thursday.
