Athletes from the Boys’ and Girls’ Outdoor Track and Field teams competed this past Friday and Saturday at the Class 4A State Championship at Liberty University.
For the boys:

Drake Tews was the top scorer for the boys. He finished 3rd in the Long Jump (all-state) and tied for 7th in the High Jump (all-state).

Will Crowder was 4th in the 100m Dash (all-state). His time of 10.88 improves his #2 all-time standing, and he is only .07 seconds away from the #1 all-time performance. He was also 16th in the 200m Dash & 18th in the Long Jump.

Chance Grove was 4th in the Discus Throw (all-state) & 13th in the Shot Put.

Lavaughan Freeman tied for 7th in the High Jump (all-state).

Josh Arce was 31st in the 3200m Run.

The boys’ 4x100m Relay team of Drake Tews, Lavaughan Freeman, Jackson Clyburn, and Will Crowder finished 10th. Although it was not fast enough to be an all-state performance, they once again improved their school record time with a time of 43.68 seconds.

The boys’ 4x400m Relay team of Jackson Clyburn, Logan Owens, Gavin McDonald, and Lavaughan Freeman finished 14th. Their time of 3:29.60 was their best time all season.
For the girls:

Brooke Sandy was the only all-state athlete with a tie for 8th place in the High Jump.

Kaitlyn Poppo tied for 11th in the High Jump.

Kenzie Konyar was 13th in the 3200m Run & 15th in the 1600m Run.

Ja’Niyah Stovall was 16th in the 400m Dash.

The 4x800m Relay team of Lauren Beatty, Riley Rose, Haley Witt, & Kenzie Konyar were 15th.

The 4x400m Relay team of Riley Rose, Mia Johnson, Faith Gansor, & Ja’Niyah Stovall were 17th.
