The varsity girls' basketball team earned their 4th win of the season with a 45-33 victory at Culpeper High School last night. Brynna Nesselrodt led all scorers with 15 points. Makayla Firebaugh added 10 points and Brooklyn Crate chipped in 9 points. The Lady Colonials are back on the road again Friday when they travel to Kettle Run.
The varsity boys' team dominated from start to finish in a 60-38 win at home over Culpeper. Leading the Colonels in scoring was Jerome McCarthy with 12 points, Steve Brown added 9 points 6 rebounds, and Jackson Lynch dropped in 8 points. Ten different Colonels scored on the night in a team effort. The Colonels improve to 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in the district. They travel to Kettle Run on Friday night.
The JV boys had an exciting win over Culpeper, 64-61. Leading the JV team in scoring was Chris Morrison with 17 points. Cole Stowers added 14 points and Blake Corbin had 10 points. 9 Colonels scored on the night in a very exhilarating JV game that came down to the final minute.
The JV girls' team handily defeated the Blue Devils 42-8.
