The James Wood competition cheer team placed 3rd in Saturday's 4A State Championship held at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.  With the top four teams advancing to the second-round final, James Wood scored a 222 on its first performance of the day.  In the final, Grafton repeated as state champions while Liberty placed 2nd and Millbrook 4th.  The finish was especially gratifying after the team had placed 4th at the 4A West regional championship a week earlier.  Congratulations to the cheer team and the coaching staff on an outstanding 2016 season!
