James Wood High School Names New Volleyball Coach
James Wood High School has named Adrienne Patrick its new varsity volleyball coach
following the resignation of Jaime Terenzi. In Terenzi’s only year coaching the Colonels, James
Wood won the Northwestern District Championship, was the Region 4C Runner-up, and earned
a berth in the state tournament. The squad finished with a record of 23-5. Patrick is a 2005
James Wood High School graduate who has coached the school’s JV volleyball team the past
three seasons and accumulated a record of 57-6.
James Wood High School Coordinator of Student Activities Craig Woshner says, “Coach
Terenzi did an outstanding job last year leading our team to its first state tournament berth since
2016. Unfortunately, she made the difficult decision to resign due to family commitments that
she felt were taking priority over her ability to coach. We are very pleased Coach Patrick was
ready to move up to coach the varsity team. She has worked with the veteran players on the
team and understands the culture of our school since she’s both an alumna and teacher here.”
Patrick says, “It’s both humbling and exciting to be named the new volleyball coach at
James Wood, particularly since I played here as a student. Since earning my degree at
Shepherd University and starting to teach at James Wood in the fall of 2016, I’ve been involved
with the school’s volleyball program. I’m looking forward to the upcoming season, working to
further develop our players on and off the court, and building upon the program’s success.”
