The boys' cross country team placed second in Tuesday's Region 4C Championship behind perennial power Loudoun Valley to earn their second straight state championship appearance. With only two teams advancing this year, the Colonels held off a strong Millbrook performance for the final spot. Junior Nathaniel Woshner placed 4th overall to again lead the team with a time of 16:41.0. Freshman Ethan Pratt-Perez had an outstanding race, placing 9th overall in 16:58.4. Senior Chris White followed in 11th (17:05.1), Liam McDonald was 18th (17:30.6), and Landon Burdock rounded out the scoring by finishing 29th (18:01.4).
The VHSL 4A State Championship will be held on Saturday, April 24 at Oatlands in Leesburg.
