With the deepest and most competitive field out of the six VHSL classifications, the Colonels placed 7th overall in the 4A State Championship on Saturday to wrap up a successful 2021 spring season. The Colonels finished as the Northwestern District Champions and the Region 4C runner-up, but the competition was fierce. The top three teams--Jefferson Forest, Grafton, and Loudoun Valley--finished just 4 points apart in what was the closest state finish in history. Junior Nathaniel Woshner placed 13th overall to earn all-state honors, the school's first in the sport since 2014, adding to his district title and 4th-place regional finish.
