The girls' basketball team opened its season on Wednesday night at home against Martinsburg, losing 69-62 in overtime. The Colonels led for much of the game and had a slim lead within the final minute, but costly turnovers and fouls allowed the Bulldogs to pull even at the end of regulation.  Makayla Firebaugh led the Colonels with 22 points and 11 rebounds with Hannah Arnold adding 14 points and 6 blocks and Amber Wooldridge 13 points and 3 steals. The girls' teams will host Woodgrove in its first Conference 21 West games of the season on December 6.
