Summer Athletic Practices

We are currently operating under the Interim Guidance for COVID-19 Prevention in Virginia PreK-12 Schools, last updated on July 21, 2021.

● School Buildings: As an added safety precaution to the interim guidelines, regardless of vaccination status, all students and adults are required to be masked while in school buildings.
● Locker Rooms:
a. Students and adults are required to wear masks while in locker rooms at all times and maintain 3-feet of physical distance, where possible.
b. Students can leave items in the locker room each night but should be encouraged to take personal belongings home each evening for cleaning.
● Indoor Practices and Competitions: Students and adults are required to wear masks during physical activity indoors. UPDATED JULY 27: masks required indoors except when athletes are actively participating in workouts, practices, etc. (i.e. must wear in locker rooms, before and after practice, on buses to and from events).
● Outdoor Practices and Competitions: Students and adults are not required to wear masks at outdoor practices and events. There are no physical distancing requirements while outdoors.
● Sanitization:
a. Where possible, provide opportunities and reminders to students and staff to frequently hand wash and/or hand sanitize.
b. Locker rooms should be sanitized daily after each use.
