The girls' basketball team defeated Washington, WV on the road Tuesday night, 64-39, to improve to 5-1 on the season. The team has won five straight after losing the season opener in overtime to Martinsburg.  Makayla Firebaugh again led the team in scoring with 22 points while adding 5 assists and 9 rebounds. Amanda Christian scored 20 points, and Amber Woodridge added 8 points, 3 steals, and 3 rebounds. The girls' and boys' varsity teams will compete in the Boonsboro Tournament on December 27 and 28, and will then resume conference play on January 3 at Sherando.
