The girls' and boys' basketball teams both earned their first wins of the season on Tuesday night against Fauquier.
The girls won 61-29 at home. Leading the way was Brynna Nesselrodt with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Aleeya Silver also had a big scoring night with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Emma Grace Bursey scored 2 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, had 5 steals and 5 blocked shots. Aubrey Grove had 4 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Others scoring were Gabby Valentinetti (4 pts), Jolie Jenkins (4 pts), Nayah Edwards (2pts and 4 rebounds) and Maddie Shirley (2pts). The Lady Colonels return to the court next week when they host the 3rd Annual Winter Tournament on the 29th and 30th.
The boys won on the road in a tight contest, 45-43. Statistical leaders for the Colonels were Josh Borromeo with 13 points and 9 rebounds, Cole Stowers and Chris Morrison with 10 points each, and Bodie Pullen pulled down 9 rebounds. Their next game is Wednesday at Woodgrove. They then host Freedom on December 28.
