The Colonels girls' basketball team finished as the Boonsboro, MD tournament runner-up in the annual holiday competition. The team handled Musselman 61-41 in the first round matchup.  Amber Woolridge led the team in four categories with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals.
Makayla Firebaugh added 15 points and 4 assists, and Hannah Burke scored 9.  In the final, Poolesville's height was too much to overcome as they defeated Wood 69-47.  Woodridge again led the team with 20 points, Firebaugh scored 13, and Amanda Christian added 10.  Burke led the Colonels with 9 rebounds and Christian had 8 boards. 

The boys and girls JV and varsity teams will travel to Sherando on Tuesday, January 3 with games starting at 6:00 and 7:30 PM.  The next home game for the Lady Colonels will be on Saturday when they host Washington, WV with 6:00 and 7:30 PM tips.
