The Region 4A West swimming and wrestling championships were held this past weekend and three Colonels have advanced to the VHSL 4A State tournaments. In wrestling, Aaron Black placed 2nd at 120 pounds and Bailey Eichelberger placed 3rd at 170. The state tournament will be held at the Salem Civic Center starting Thursday night. Zoe Schopick advanced in swimming in the 100 yard butterfly from an earlier performance where she had met the state qualifying standard. The 4A swim championships will take place on Richmond starting on Friday.
Also scoring points for the wrestling team were Matt Papastavrou and Corey Lemons, both of whom finished 7th in their weight classes, and Jared King who placed 8th.
