James Wood softball defeated Strasburg 4-0 on the road Thursday night. Kati Brannon started and threw 3 innings with 6 strikeouts allowing only 1 hit. Sophia Gerald pitched 4 innings in relief with 9 strikeouts allowing 0 hits and got the win. Leading the Colonels at the plate was Brynnen Williams who was 3-4 with a RBI. Gabby Madagan was 1-3 with a HR, Adilynn Ellison was 1-3, and Aliza Judd was 1-4. The Colonels travel to Sherando next Tuesday.
The baseball team beat the Rams 6-0. Parker Kerns picked up the win going 5 innings while allowing 1H, 2BB, and 5 K’s. Jake Woskobunik came on in relief with1 IP, 1H, 2BB, 1K, and Logan Bower pitched the 7th allowing 1H, 2 BB, and striking out 3. Bower led the Colonels at the plate going 1-3, HR, 2RBI, R, SB. Brock Whipkey 1-3, 2B, 2R, SB. Cade Cornwell 1-3, R. Tyler Prusik 1-3, RBI. Kaden McCullough 1-3, RBI. Zach Woskobunik 1-5, R, 2 SB. Baseball travels to Sherando on Tuesday.
Girls' soccer defeated Clarke County 2-0 to improve to 2-0 on the season. The team will travel to Skyline on Monday.
