The James Wood Girls Soccer team improved to 5-0 on the season, and haven’t given up a goal yet, beating Clarke County 7-0 Friday night. Mary Kimble opened up the scoring five minutes into the game by finishing off DeLaney Newcome’s pass. Then Kimble scored again less than a minute later when Reese Lessard sent her a cross into the box. Avery Wright scored two goals and Maddie Shirley scored two as well. Grace Rivas Zelaya scored and had an assist. Shirley added an assist to her tally. Newcome had three assists in the match. Sloane Ferrebee assisted a goal too. Alaynah McGuire had seven saves during the game as she and the defense secured their fifth straight shutout. The Lady Colonels travel to Millbrook on Tuesday.
JV and Varsity boys soccer teams ended a 3 game week with 2 wins over the Clarke County Eagles. JV had a dominant 3-0 win with all 3 goals coming in the first half. The varsity team had a 3-2 win and was led this evening by Brayden Pineda with 3 goals. Assists came from Owen Swiger, Tristan Escalona, and Jesus Hernandez. The boys face Millbrook and Handley this upcoming week.
Varsity baseball defeated Manassas Park 23-0 in five innings.
