James Wood varsity softball beat Clarke County 4-3 on a walkoff bunt by Molly Maynard. Sophia Gerald started and pitched 6 strong innings with 7 strikeouts. Kati Brannon came in relief and pitched a scoreless 7th inning. Aliza Judd (2-4 with a double) led off the bottom of the 7th with a double and the courtesy runner Emma Hild scored the winning run on Maynard's bunt. Sophia Gerald was 2-3 with a HR, Brynnen Williams had a 2 RBI double, and Kati Brannon had 3 walks. Gabby Madagan was 1-1 with 2 walks. The Colonels travel to Fauquier on Friday. 

The JV softball team took down Clarke County 5-3 on Wednesday, led by a stellar performance from Taylor Fishel, who went 3-for-3 at the plate and pitched four shutout innings in relief, striking out five. Reece Madagan also had three hits, while Sadey Hawkins showed patience at the plate with two walks. The Colonels stole seven bases, with Fishel swiping four.  The JV team hosts Fauquier this Friday!. Come out and support your Colonels!
