James Wood varsity softball beat Handley 19-0 in 5 innings. Sophia Gerald and Emma Hild threw a combined no hitter. Gerald started and threw 3 innings striking out 7 and Hild pitched 2 innings in relief striking out 6. Brynnen Williams was 3-3 with a walk and 5 RBIs, Kayleigh Harden was 2-3 with a double, HR and 3 RBIs, and Aubrey Nail was 3-3 with 3 RBIs. Aliza Judd was 1-2 with a double and 2 RBIs, Emma Hild was 2-3 with a RBI, and Molly Maynard was 1-2 with 2 RBIs. The James Wood girls soccer team dropped their second game in a row last night losing at Sherando 0-1. Mary Kimble was outstanding in goal with ten saves. The defense played well. JV dropped a tough 0-1 loss as well. Avery Wright had 6 saves.
JV boys soccer tied Sherando yesterday evening 1-1. Varsity fell 1-0 with a goal from the Warriors in the second half. The teams will travel to Kettle Run on Friday.
