James Wood softball beat Liberty 4-3 on a walkoff single by Addy Ellison. Kati Brannon started and pitched 5 strong innings with 6 strikeouts. Sophia Gerald pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief. At the plate the Colonels were led by Kayleigh Harden who was 3-4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Harden led off the bottom of the 7th inning with a double that one hopped the fence. She eventually scored the winning run on Addy Ellison's walkoff single. Gabby Madagan was 2-3 with a RBI, Aliza Judd was 1-2, and Brynnen Williams was 1-3 with a walk and a run scored. Addy Ellison was 1-3 with a walk, Kati Brannon was 1-4, and Sophia Gerald drew 2 walks. The Colonels will host Millbrook on Wednesday in the Regional Semifinal with the winner earning a berth to the State tournament.
In other games, boys' soccer fell to Handley 8-1 and girls' soccer was blanked 2-0 by Orange. Both teams were eliminated with the losses.
